Tesla Finance Team’s mission is to improve the company operationally and financially by working cross functionally to control costs and improve processes. The EMEA Technical Accounting Lead is an important player in building a mature finance organization in the EMEA region. The EMEA Technical Accounting Lead will report to the team manager financial control and will be the Technical Accounting Lead for finance teams in Amsterdam and Berlin.
You are familiar with IFRS and / or US GAAP reporting and will provide expertise on technical accounting subjects like revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensations, property plant & equipment and cost accounting. Furthermore, the ideal candidate needs to encourage the practical application of technical accounting aspects to field operations and accounting shared services groups at Tesla. Lastly, you are innovative and can communicate complex accounting topics to all levels within the company. As for experience, you have proven accomplishments in a technical accounting role in a BIG4 company.
- Work cross-functionally with other groups to foresee potential accounting issues and recommend practical solutions associated with contemplated business transactions
- Monitor business activities, ensure timely identification of accounting and financial reporting matters and prepare high quality accounting memorandums for management and auditors
- Analyze new and proposed accounting standards and define the impact on Tesla and implement new accounting standards, as required
- Assist in the preparation and review of corporate accounting policies and procedures
- Work cross-functionally with other groups and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Assist with preparing and reviewing of (IFRS) financial statements
What You’ll Bring
- University degree in finance or economics
- Graduate degree in accounting (qualified accountant)
- Strong understanding of IFRS and / or US GAAP as well as ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate complex accounting and reporting issues to finance and non-finance personnel
- A solid understanding of financial reporting, financial processes and control environment in an international setting
- Assertive, team player and an international mindset, demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Written and spoken proficiency in English is required and one additional language is welcome
- Ability to work independently and accurately under strict deadlines, flexible and energetic person, with a hands on mentality
